Copenhagen flower pot Ø18 cm is a gorgeous unglazed planter that is immediately recognizable thanks to its beautiful patina, a gorgeous detail that becomes elegantly expressive on the windowsill or table where it can catch the sunlight. Also known as the Køpenhavner or Castle Pot, the planter was inspired by a pot first manufactured at the royal castle in Denmark during the 19th century. Today, Bergs Potter crafts their own version in a small village in the heart of Tuscany where each piece is made by hand from Italian premium clay. The quality materials and careful design create a premium planter, one that lets the roots of the plants breathe and thrive while retaining moisture in the soil — the truly optimal environment for your beloved plants. The pot is entirely waterproof thanks to a speciality silicone treatment, making the Köpenhamn ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. Copenhagen Castle Pot. It is called the Castle Pot since it is inspired by a pot made at the royal Danish castle of Fredensborg in 1860. Over time, production moved to smaller potters in Copenhagen, where it was made until plastic pots began to grow in popularity in the 1960s. Steffen Berg found his inspiration in a beautiful pot he saw years ago in a former nursery. Just outside of Copenhagen, in the historic fishing village of Dragør, there is a unique interplay between the blue sea, the ornate houses and the shiny green gates of the paved avenues. This enchanting colour combination inspires our glazed pots, jars and vases. Bergs Potter's glaze is saturated with intense colour, accentuating the nuances between the different types of pots. Simona - 'La Petite Française' Simona is a romantic Parisian pot that Bergs imagine has appeared in countless French homes since the peak of its popularity in the 1820s-1860s. It was first created in Paris’ Latin Quarter, but—alas!—the original artist’s name remains a mystery. Years ago mr Bergs spotted this delightful pot in the midst of a flea market in Montmartre.
